Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Cbttherapists

CBT is used to treat depression which is still considered the best option in treating depression and it is definitely not losing its effectiveness according to Johnsen and Friborg's (2015) meta-analysis. iCBT (internet based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is an acceptable form of treatment for depression but so is face-to-face CBT. The question is which one has a greater effect?

Study material was collected from trials that investigated treatment for adult depression. It was found that face-to-face CBT treatment sessions were more effective compared to iCBT. It was also found that face-to-face CBT patients completed their treatment more by 3.1% compared to iCBT. The percentage of patients that did not complete their treatment with face-to-face CBT completed on average 24.5% while iCBT completed on average 42.1%.

To conclude this investigation, studies were found in the trials that showed that face-to-face CBT is more effective than Internet based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
